In order to better serve our members and friends and keep you all up to date on our progress, we have started sending our monthly newsletter out in an email format using Veritical Response. It is evolving as we learn to use the templates and possibilites with the company. We hope you enjoy the new format, and we are happy to receive any feedback or suggestions that you might have. THE PRESIDENT'S CORNER
Autumn is here, and the holidays are upon us. The East Bay Women's Network is gearing up for our annual Holiday Extravaganza Trade Show on December 1st. Vendor tables are available for anyone who is interested, EBWN member or not. There are 4- 8 foot tables priced at $35, 7- 6 foot tables at $30, 40 round tables at $30 and 4-foot tables for $20. If you bring your own table the fee is $20. We have the use of both rooms, so sign up now. This is an event you won't want to miss. Admission for everyone is $15 and includes great food and lots of surprises! Send a check made out to EBWN and your table preference to Diana Cohn, 1554 Glen Dr., San Leandro 94577, and be sure to include your business card. You can also reserve a table at the next meeting by handing Diana cash or a check and your table preference.
KUDOS in August were received by Jerri Scaife, Kerry Hargraves, Heather Ellsworth, and two for Kari Thompson and Lynette Jenkins-Turcuta.
RAFFLE DONATIONS were made by Jerri Scaife, Shirley Runco, Diana Cohn, Lynette Jenkins-Turcuta, Susan Askin, Pam Whitman, Vicki Powers and Kari Thompson. The raffle collected a whopping $146 which brings the total to $672.
EBWN is in need of two volunteers to take over the job of P.R. Coordinator and WebMistress. Cheryl McDonald is relocating to Southern California and will be missed. Half a year's membership fee is included plus other perks if you decide to take on the responsibility of one of these positions. Mark Your Calendars For the San Leandro Business Women's Expo on Wednesday, Sept. 15th at the San Leandro Marina Inn, 68 Monarch Bay Dr., from 5-8pm where you will discover many of our local, women-owned businesses. Our New Meeting Agenda...
11am - Set-up for those with table top displays.
11:15 - Registration begins. In the next 1/2 hour, raffle tickets are sold, photos taken, networking happens, table tops are visited and lunch is served.
11:45 - The meeting begins with the intros, the kudos and the raffle. If there is time before the speaker begins, the President will spontaneously call on a member for a 'Member Interview'.
12:30pm - The Vice President introduces the speaker or activity.
1:15 - The speaker finishes, and announcements are made.
1:30 - The meeting ends and we leave with delicious leftovers.
