President's Corner

Lauren Devine, owner and operator of The Sign Shop, has been in the graphic design industry for over 13 years. Beginning her career in the newspaper industry in graphics and sales, Lauren was the recipient of the prestigious award, "The Newsie", from the the California Newspaper Publishers Association, recognizing her talent in telemarketing and sales. She was also given an award in graphic design and page layout from the National Newspaper Association. Lauren has over 10 years experience in the sign industry as a graphic designer and sign fabricator. In August 2005, Lauren decided to go out on her own and opened The Sign Shop as a sole proprietor. She recently made a marriage-related move from the Central Valley to the East Bay and is actively striving to build her business in this area.

Lauren is the Membership Chair of the East Bay Women's Network and is currently looking to join other networking groups. Lauren states, "I enjoy networking and meeting new people here in the Bay Area. Customer service is of the utmost importance to me and having a chance to meet my potential clients face-to-face is an important step in understanding their needs. Being an ACTIVE member of these networking groups is beneficial, not only for business, but for personal growth."
